The honeycomb rotor is a core component of dehumidification equipment. Therefore, the selection of the rotors is particularly paramount. In processes of some fields, there are some specialties, which required to a strict control of air humidity. So, in order to select rotors correctly, a mature selection software is necessary to achieve the best results, improve work efficiency, and create greater values.

CooBase DesModsoftware interface is simple and intuitive. It mainly consists of Menu bar, Entrance of input parameters, Results of output parameters,Calculation for velocity of air, Calculation for air moisture content.
●Edit:After confirming the selection of runners, you can click on the ‘Edit’ button in the menu bar to export the Excel and Word parameter files of the selected models, which is convenient for customers to save and store.
●Units: Click on the ‘unit’ in the menu bar, and you can switch to the British standard and international standard units.(Generally, we select international standard units).
●Preferences:
(1) The ‘RPH’ value in the software is set up by optimal speed as a default. If you want to check the selection results under other speed conditions, you can click on the ‘Preferences’ menu bar, remove the ‘√’ from the ‘Optimize RPH’ option, and enter a value in the RPH input box.
(2) When CooBase DesModsoftware performs calculations in three zones, it does not default to using the air from the Purge outlet for regeneration. If you need to use the air from the Purge area for regeneration, click on ‘Preferences’ in the menu bar and select ‘Purge Outlet used for Activation’. Then the humidity parameters of the regenerated air will be filled in automatically.
Rotor partition angle, Velocity of air in the partitions, dry bulb temperature, moisture content, Rotation speed (which could be set at a default as Optimize RPH), rotor depth, and elevation of application.
The calculation of our selection software is based on the velocity of air through the rotor, which is different from others. So you could enter air flow, rotor diameter, and effective utilization rate of the rotor (which can be calculated in conjunction with the CooBase enthalpy and humidity calculation tool or default to 93%), the actual air velocity can be calculated by clicking on the calculation button.
Here, you could copy the calculation results to the inlet of Velocity by clicking on the button of “Paste Values”.
Enter the dry bulb temperature and relative humidity, calculate the moisture content, and copy it to the processing or regeneration side by one click.
Display of selection results: dry bulb temperature, moisture content, dew point temperature, pressure drop, etc.
Normally we are used to set two channels for a rotor at 1:3, the area of 270° is used for processing and the area of 90° is used for regenerating
The ratio of processing and regeneration are usually set up as 3:1 for air flow and partition.
It will be renewed by an air steam of 110-140℃.
Enter the parameters you designed in the calculation tool for inlet parameters, air speed, and water content, and then try to calculate according to your design.
For the selection of a low regeneration temperature rotor of CBG series, we can divide the rotor partition into two parts as a ratio of 1:1,2:1 and 3:1 for processing area and regeneration area.
We can set the processing area and regeneration area at half to half, the area of 180° for processing and another 180° for regeneration, the ratio of two air steam 1:1 also, and the regeneration temperature could be set at 60-90℃ or more lower.
Enter the parameters you got from the air velocity and water content calculation tools then you could make a selection according to your design plan.
Normally we use three partitions for such applications, and set processing, regeneration and Purge area by a ratio as 1:1:6,1:1:8, or 1:1:10, etc. What’s the specific ratio will depend on the actual condition of a project, so as to achieve the best efficiency.
For the partition angle, enter the angles of the regeneration zone and purge zone that you have designed. After the ‘Calculate’ button on the right turns yellow, perform pre-operation first. Then, the data input box for the third zones will appear. When three zones divisions are set for calculation, the air from the purge zone is actually not used for regeneration by default. Now, you need to click on the ‘Preferences’ menu bar and select the ‘Purge outlet used for activation’ option. After that you don’t need to manually enter the humidity parameters of the regenerated air, and you can launch the software to calculate according to your design plan.
Before you install DesMod please confirm that your computer operating system is a legal edition, but if your operating system is Windows XP please ignore it. The latest version is DesMod 1.6.7, please be sure you had uninstalled any old version completely already.

Please notice that the software will not create a shortcut on the desktop, you should find it in “Start” menu and create a shortcut by yourself. For first launch the software you should contact with CooBase for an activation code.
